Corporate History Our mission: to be the most convenient chain of stores in the Las Vegas valley. To that end, our stores are open 24x7, and we strive to eliminate waiting and lines. City Stop is a “one-stop-shopping” concept— providing customers with multiple services such as gasoline, car washes, groceries, dining, gaming, and even a post office.Key to our concept is co-branding. We’ve formed strategic alliances with Shell Oil, Dominoes Pizza, Jack in the Box, and Fillipitos. We’re always open to new relationships. The City Stop owners feel a strong connection and commitment to the community, and have been quite active. Evidence are their many awards and recognition amongst their peers. Our History: City Stop Inc. was founded in 1997 by Bruce Familian and Jon Athey. City Stop began in a small 120 square foot leased office where the two principals laid out the plans for City Stop. The first store was financed with a private placement memorandum and purchased the first real estate in 1997. City Stop I opened on October 19 of 1998; City Stop II opened in March of 1999 and they have been able to open a store every year since. Stores were strategically placed to cover the entire valley market. City Stops are only found in Clark County, Nevada. With City Stop II, we introduced our first City Stop Car Wash— a 75 foot automatic conveyor that gives a great exterior wash in just 3 minutes. A car can enter the tunnel every 30 seconds eliminating the 5 to 7 minute wait per vehicle in non conveyor washes. There are now 5 City Stop Car Wash facilities around the Valley. Some offer hand wash options, auto detailing and Smog Certification. All our stores have gasoline and have been branded Exxon, Texaco and independent fuel was added in 2002. All stores were rebranded to Shell in 2005 giving the chain a solidified national brand. Where possible, City Stop has leased space to national brand restaurants like Jack in the Box and Domino’s Pizza making each location a one-stop center. In 2004, the City Stop chain opened US Post Offices in every store after realizing the post office’s inability to build new stations fast enough to keep up with the rapid growth experienced in Las Vegas. Building on City Stop’s established convenience and short wait times (with the same prices as the Postal Service), City Stop has provided a sorely needed service to residents of the Las Vegas valley. In 2007 City Stop Rewards was rolled out to offer free goods and discounts to our loyal, repeat customers. Customers can pick up a convenient Reward Tag for their key chain and earn points with every purchase. The City Stop chain has grown to 10 current locations. Our expectation is the addition of a minimum of one new store annually. In fact, City Stop stores #11 and #12 are already well along in the planning stages. Our stores serve some 1200 customers each day, and employ a workforce of over 100. If you’re interested in joining our team, please visit the Employment Opportunities (Jobs) section of our website. |
